Country Specific Risk of Coronavirus (COVID-19) (Update 28)

30 Oct 2020

Due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic , the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) continue to advise against 'all but essential' travel for British nationals; exempting some destinations that no longer pose an unacceptably high risk of coronavirus (COVID-19) for travellers.

Country Specific COVID-19 Risk

Each fitfortravel country page includes a COVID-19 country specific risk-rating which identifies the country as being high, moderate or low risk of exposure to coronavirus (COVID-19) for UK travellers.

  • This risk-rating is based on a robust public health assessment of the COVID-19 risks for travellers to each country.

In October 2020, the COVID-19 risk for UK travellers was increased in 12 countries:

In October 2020, the COVID-19 risk for UK travellers was decreased in the following locations:

  • Greek islands of Mykonos, Crete, Lesvos, Milos (Serifos), Tinos, Santorini and Zakynthos (Zante)
  • Cayman Islands
  • Victoria State, Australia
  • Maldives
  • Canary Islands (Spain)
  • Denmark

The COVID-19 risk rating and travel advice from the FCDO is being kept under constant review and may change at short notice. You are therefore advised to continue to follow sensible precautions and consider the following sources of information below.

Before planning any international travel:

Check the FCDO website for country specific 'Travel Advisory Notices' which provide information on travel and entry restrictions, screening and quarantine requirements; and also review the local medical care availablity at your destination.
