Dengue Fever in France (Update)

Locally acquired cases of dengue fever continue to be reported in in Nîmes, Languedoc-Roussillon in southern France.

As of 17 September 2015, six cases (five confirmed and one probable) have been reported. All cases are from the same locality where the mosquito vector is known to be present. Date of onset of illness ranged between 8 August and 18 September 2015.

Advice for Travellers

Travellers should be aware of the risk of mosquito-borne infections in certain areas of France. Travellers should always take steps to avoid mosquito bites.
