Hepatitis A in Mexico

As of 08 March 2013, six new outbreaks of hepatitis A have been reported in the municipalities of San Miguel, Monteverde (Huajuapan), Santiago Tamazola, El Oro Nuxaa, Santiago Yosondua, and Santa Cruz.

Advice for Travellers

Hepatitis A vaccine is usually recommended for all travellers to Mexico; disease prevalence is considered moderate to high in this country. Travellers should also maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and food and water safety.
