Dengue Fever in India

Data from the Central Agency for Vector Borne Diseases indicates that in the first four months of 2012, a total of 1635 cases of dengue fever were reported nationwide.

The highest number of positive dengue fever cases have been reported from Tamil Nadu with 674 cases, followed by 561 cases in Kerala, 150 in Puducherry, 66 in Karnataka and 64 in Gujarat among others.

Advice for Travellers

Travellers should be aware of the risk of dengue fever and be advised to use personal protection methods to avoid mosquito bites.
