Dengue Fever in Australia (Cairns) (Update)

A small number of cases of dengue fever continue to be reported in the Cairns region of the state of Queensland in the northeast of Australia. A total of 34 confirmed, locally acquired cases have been recorded.

Advice for Travellers

Cairns is a popular destination for UK travellers; they should be aware of the risk of dengue fever. Travellers are advised to take bite avoidance measures.
