Cholera in Mozambique (Update)

26 Feb 2015

Heavy rains continue to affect Mozambique and the ongoing cholera outbreak. The total number of cholera cases has now risen to 3478 and includes 37 cholera related deaths.

New cases are being reported from the provinces of Nampula on the north east coast, Niassa and Tete also in the north of the country.

Advice for Travelling

Travellers to outbreak areas who will be mixing closely with the local population and cannot ensure safe drinking water can be immunised against cholera. A high standard of food, water and personal hygiene should also be maintained.
