Yellow Fever in Brazil (Update 7)

The Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) reports that the Brazilian yellow fever outbreak is continuing. Transmission of infection is not increasing but remains stable.
From December 2016 to 18 May 2017, there have been 3 192 suspected cases of yellow fever in Brazil. Among these cases there have been 426 deaths.
Confirmed cases have been identified in 7 states: Espírito Santo, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Pará, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Tocantins.
Advice for Travellers
Travellers are advised to use personal protective measures when entering areas where yellow fever is present. This includes using insect repellents and wearing appropriate clothing.
A vaccine is available for travellers to protect against yellow fever and all travellers going to Brazil should seek advice from their travel health provider about vaccination.
