17 Oct 2013

The Ministry of Health for Cameroon carried out a yellow fever mass vaccination campaign between 27 August to 1 September 2013, in the Littoral Region, following laboratory-confirmation of two cases of yellow fever in the area in April 2013. The index case was a 43-year-old woman from Ndom Health district who became ill on 15 March 2013.

There is a risk of yellow fever and vaccination is advised for travellers (unless contraindicated) and a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from all travellers over 1 year of age entering Cameroon. Travellers are also advised to avoid mosquito bites.
