The outbreak of hepatitis A in Latvia which was first reported in Oct 2008, is still ongoing. There were 2817 confirmed cases reported between 20 Nov 2007 and 31 Dec 2008, with 419 suspected cases still under investigation.
Since Nov 2007, an increase in the number of reported hepatitis A cases has been noted in Latvia.
